Event Celebrate The Horse Day at JAX RANCH & HOME Lafayette

Jax Ranch and Home Store in Lafayette Colorado is proud to celebrate 2014, the “Year of the Horse”, with our first annual “Celebrate the Horse Day” on Saturday, May the 31st.


Come and talk to our participants about their non-profit equine programs.
Some participants will have horses on site throughout the day, primarily between 10:00 and 3:00.
Participants will include:

  • Colorado Horse Rescue
  • Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center
  • Great Escape Mustang Sanctuary
  • Horses Forever
  • Heroes in Horsehair Youth Ranch
  • Boulder County Horse Association
 
We also will have clinics throughout the day on equine specific topics from local professionals, including:
  • 9:00 a.m. – Sharon Bokan, CSU Extension Office – Pasture Management
  • 10:00 a.m. – Kristen Allen, Nutrena – Equine Nutrition
  • 11:00 a.m.  - Sara Martinelli, Three Leaf Farms – Alternative Medicine
  • 12:00 noon - Damian Ficca, Front Range Community College  -  Hoof care
  • 1:00 p.m. - Dr. Christy Downey DVM. – Equine first aid
  • 2:00 p.m. -  Horses Forever – Horse rescue sling demo
Other activities include:
  • Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division will be available to talk about their barn emergency information program.
  • CSU and Front Range Community College will have representatives to pass on information about their equine programs.
  • Representatives from Nutrena, Formula 707 and Zoetis (Pfizer) to talk about their feed and supplements for your equine friend.
 
Support your local 4H club by coming to grab one of their freshly cooked hot dogs for lunch!
Kids, get your picture taken with one of the horses! Free!
