The Broomfield Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with the North Metro Fire Rescue District, the Broomfield Rotary Club, Century Chevrolet and Omni Interlocken Resort to help the Nelson family.

 

Unwavering faith. Steadfast commitment. Dedicated service. These are the descriptions that come to mind when considering the Nelson family.

Paul and Lisa wed 20 years ago and have lovingly raised their two children, Tyler and Whitney, in our community. You will not find a family with more conviction, devotion, determination, and love. However, this family NEEDS OUR HELP!

Whitney has seizures that are unpredictable and uncontrollable; therefore, she cannot be left alone. Yet even in the face of multiple trips to the Mayo clinic, seemingly endless inconclusive blood work-ups, and on-going IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) treatments, her spirit remains undaunted. Whitney beams with a self-assured smile and is quick with a compliment or a giggle.

As if the family hasn?t endured enough; her mother Lisa, recently lost her incredibly courageous battle with cancer. Lisa?s enthusiastic devotion to her family has provided the strength that Whitney carries through each day.

Whitney?s dad Paul is a highly respected 17-year veteran of North Metro Fire Rescue District. He has served as a Firefighter, Engineer, and Lieutenant before reaching his current role as Fire Captain. Additionally, Captain Nelson invested over four years training other firefighters in the standards he personifies.

Whitney?s road to independence has been a long one and now it?s our turn to step out and walk down her path. Along the way you have the chance to support this fundraising effort by purchasing a raffle ticket or better yet multiple tickets! Tickets purchased will be entered into a raffle drawing for your chance to win a brand new 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1 LT Coupe (or $20,000 cash), a getaway package at the Omni Inter-locken Hotel and additional cash prizes.

 -Stop by the North Metro Fire Headquarters at 101 Lamar St in Broomfield between 8am and 5pm or call North Metro Fire Rescue at 303.452.9910.

 - Tickets will also be available at the Broomfield Chamber Business After Hours on March 20 and April 4.  The Chevrolet Camaro will be available to view at all events.

DRAWING:
The drawing will be held in Century Chevrolet's Showroom on Wednesday, May 15th at 6 pm during the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event. There will be refreshments beginning at 5 pm and ending at 7 pm. As to how the raffle works, it is simple. All of the tickets will be placed in a rotating drum and someone from the audience will be asked to come up and pull the winning tickets. There will be four winners in all!

PROCEEDS:
All proceeds will go towards funding a service dog for Whitney Nelson.
