  • About

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Adams and Broomfield Counties was founded in 2000 and works to make sure that every child who cannot live safely at home has a caring, compassionate CASA Volunteer Advocate who will help fight for their right to be safe, ensure that they are treated with dignity, and assure their safe passage out of foster care, building a stronger community for all.
After being sworn-in by a judge, Volunteer Advocates are appointed to a child or family of children and spend an average of 15-20 hours a month advocating for these children. They get to know the child while also gathering information from the child's family, teachers, doctors, care-givers and anyone else involved in the child's life. Judges highly value CASA Volunteer Advocate's recommendations which help them make informed decisions in the child's best interest. Each year, in Adams and Broomfield Counties, there are over 1,100 children who have been physically, sexually or emotionally abused or neglected, and who are in desperate need of a caring, committed CASA Volunteer Advocate to speak up for their best interests. Our new “Envision Coalition” asks community members to “envision'' a bright future for every local child. We seek members who will be AVID supporters of CASA: Advocate for a child in need, Volunteer their their time at community events, Invest in the organization to help envision a brighter future for every child, or Do something to share CASA’s visions with their communities and networks.
